StuyHack, originally known as whiteHatAcademy, is a cyber security club at Stuyvesant High School founded by
Ethan Cheng
,
Yicheng Wang
, and
Loren Maggiore
in 2015. We believe that as computer science becomes a growing field and the world of computers expands, cyber security becomes a much larger issue, and people should have the opportunity to learn about it. We teach topics such as
cryptography, digital forensics, steganography, binary exploitation, network vulnerability exploitation, and reverse engineering.
For the new 2015-2016 year, we decided to rebrand our club to StuyHack, and also to update our website and workflow. We introduced the usage of Slack for communication within the club, see Slack for more details, and the usage of GitBooks for our curriculum. There will also be a member login (coming soon!) where members of the club can view the schedule and curriculum materials.
StuyHack will also participate in CTF competitions, such as EasyCTF, PicoCTF, HSCTF, and more!
StuyHack uses Slack as a form of communication. It operates as an instant messaging service, an announcment board, and a forum. It can also integrate with other services, like GitHub and Trello, to make things organized. You can check out more about Slack here. StuyHack's Slack URL is StuyHack.slack.com
StuyHack also uses Facebook as a place to make large announcements. It was our primary form of communication back when we were known as whiteHatAcademy. Our Facebook group is located here: facebook.com/groups/whitehatacademystuy/
